Bradley Chance Hays is a Contemporary Western artist working with the combination of the contemporary and the traditional in Western art subject matter.  He has lived a life in the American West from birth and finds interest in developing a new style of Expressionistic paintings.  Hays’ goal is to take the Twenty-first Century seriously to create an exciting new style of Western painting.  He takes his subjects from a real state to a new transformed and recreated form.  Areas of his paintings seem to be created with great rendering but other areas are done with abstractions and interestingly designed washes.  He is most known for his original works on paper and canvas done with pencil, watercolor and oil.  Hays’ goal is to continue growing aesthetically in his work while showing the world an alternative approach to viewing the American West.

Bradley Chance Hays (born July 14, 1985), is a professional American Western Abstract Expressionist Artist, and member and top contender of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), the International Professional Rodeo Association (IPRA), the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA).

Bradley Chance Hays was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, U.S.A., to Brent and Melissa Jan (Hopkins) Hays.   His paternal grandparents are Walter Neill (1935-2014) and Lila Lee (Goodnight) Hays.  He is the eldest of four children.  His sisters are Charity, Cherish, and Choyce.

Early Influences:
Bradley Chance's father, Brent Hays, competed as a rodeo bull-dogger and team roper, and established the family ranch in Bristow, Oklahoma.  Bradley Chance's mother, Melissa Hays, is an art education and special needs professional.

Well before age 10, Bradley Chance was actively learning ranching and rodeo skills from his father, and free-hand drawing and painting from his mother.

In memory of his grandfather, Walter Neill Hays, Chance helps to organize and lead the annual Alzheimer’s fundraiser rodeo: “Hays Family Invitational."

Education and Involvement:
Bradley Chance Hays played high school and college football.  He also competed in the tie-down roping teams for OPSU and OSU, while earning his BFA and MFA, while at the same time exhibiting and selling his artworks throughout his educational career.

Bradley Chance Hays furthered his art education in artist workshops in the Czech Republic, and also New York City.

He credits Professor Jack Titus of the Oklahoma State University Dept. of Art, as a strong motivator to continue achieving personal and professional goals.  Craig Lathum and Robert Etbauer, instructors at Panhandle State University, developed Bradley Chance Hays' rodeo skills to the professional competitive level.

Achievements include ranking third, eleventh and thirteenth Internationally in tie-down roping.
